Free Community Day!

Saturday, Nov 23, 2019
11am–6pm

Join us on this special Saturday and explore all of our shows free of charge!

In honor of our exhibition 20/20 InSight: Posters from the 2017 Women’s March, we will be featuring a complimentary drop-in button making station from 11am–1pm (right outside of the 20/20 InSight show in our Cellar Level).

We are also featuring a drop-in storytime at 11am near our 24th Street entrance. We chose two great exhibition-related reads: The Pink Hat by Andrew Joyner and Anansi the Spider: a tale from the Ashanti by Gerald McDermott.

The Pink Hat tells the story of a pink hat that made its way to a girl who took it to the Women’s March – a great entry point to our 20/20 Insight exhibition highlighting posters that were used in the 2017 Women’s March (that features its own pink hat!).

Anansi the Spider: a tale from the Ashanti tells the folktale of Anansi the spider, as told by the Ashanti peoples in Ghana – the birthplace of our Baptized by Beefcake exhibition focused on handpainted Ghanian movie posters.

Join us for one or both before making buttons in our Children’s Space (right outside of the 20/20 Insight show in our Cellar Level).

Cafe & Shop will be open!
