DESCRIPTION:Poster House’s second season of summer internships is almost finished.  \nFour amazing people joined the museum’s ten-week\, paid summer internship program this July through August. They were afforded remote access to all parts of running a cultural organization\, from collections management to public outreach\, educational development to corporate membership. Over the next few weeks\, they will be sharing their final projects\, writing for the museum Blog\, and creating unique social media content. \nThis Monday\, Design Intern Erin Moore will be taking over Instagram Stories for a full day\, exploring the Medu Art Ensemble of Botswana and how the collective used silkscreen techniques to fight apartheid in Africa in the 1970s and 80s. \nErin is a rising senior at the Maryland Institute College of Art\, majoring in Printmaking. She is interested in book arts\, hand-lettering\, and zines.

Tonight\, grab your chew toys because we’re partnering with The Museum of the Dog for an evening of posters featuring everyone’s favorite furry four-legged friends! \nPoster House’s Chief Curator will once again be hosting Nicholas Lowry of Swann Auction Galleries and Don Spiro of The Green Fairy Society over Zoom as they bark their way through these iconic dog posters! \nAfter Don opens the show with our first cocktail\, Nicholas will release the visual hounds. Afterwards\, Don will continue to help us tastefully imbibe throughout the night while Nicho walks us through some of man’s best posters featuring man’s best friend. \nCocktail Ingredients: \nSALTY DOG/GREYHOUND\nSalt rim for “Salty Dog\,” no salt for Greyhound\n2 oz gin\n4 oz grapefruit juice\nIce cubes \nBLOODHOUND COCKTAIL\n1 oz Gin\n1 oz sweet vermouth\n1 oz dry vermouth\n2 or 3 muddled strawberries\nOptional garnish with strawberry \nGREAT DANE\n2 oz gin\n1 oz Cherry Heering\n1/2 oz dry vermouth\n1 tsp kirschwasser\nlemon twist \nHAIR OF THE DOG\n2 oz blended scotch\n1 oz honey\n1 oz cream \nPINK SQUIRREL\n1 oz crème de noyaux\n1 oz white crème de cacao\n1 oz heavy cream (or ice cream)\nOptional garnish: freshly grated nutmeg \nThis online event will be hosted on Zoom with attendees cameras off.
