SUMMARY:Heritage Printmaking Workshop with La Linterna Cali
DESCRIPTION:This special two-day\, hands-on printmaking workshop is led by members of La Linterna\, the internationally recognized poster shop in Cali\, Colombia. Learn traditional printmaking techniques\, including linocut and the use of hand tools. La Linterna represents a tangible connection to Colombia’s cultural heritage and remains committed to sharing these techniques with new generations to ensure that this specialist knowledge is not lost. Day 1 includes a discussion of La Linterna’s printmaking history as well as work with hand tools. Day 2 is dedicated to printing. This program will be presented in Spanish and simultaneously translated into English. Produced in partnership with Los Herederos. \n\nEste workshop práctico de grabado está dirigido por miembros del taller de impresión tipográfica tradicional\, La Linterna. En 2 días aprenderás técnicas artesanales que incluyen el uso de linograbado y herramientas manuales para prensas antiguas. Una dimensión invaluable del patrimonio cultural de Cali\, Colombia que ofrece una conexión tangible con el pasado\, La Linterna mantiene su compromiso de compartir estas técnicas con las nuevas generaciones\, para garantizar que este conocimiento no se pierda. El día 1 incluye los antecedentes y el contexto de la tradición\, así como el trabajo con herramientas manuales. El día 2 está dedicado a la impresión.
