SUMMARY:Timeless Mucha: The Magic of Line Roundtable Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Timeless Mucha: The Magic of Line celebrates the groundbreaking poster designs of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939) and their influence on both Art Nouveau and subsequent graphic-design movements. Produced by Mucha Foundation and D.A.P.\, Timeless Mucha explores not only the extraordinary breadth of Mucha’s impact on contemporary visual culture—from the psychedelic rock posters and album covers of the Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead to Japanese manga\, street art\, and typography—but also his essential contribution to the art of message-making. \nPoster House is pleased to mark the publication of Timeless Mucha with a conversation between Tomoko Sato\, Curator of the Mucha Foundation and the book’s editor; Mỹ Linh Triệu Nguyễn\, graphic designer\, founder of STUDIO LHOOQ\, and the book’s designer; and Angelina Lippert\, Poster House’s Executive Director and Curator. Books will be available for purchase at the event. \nTimeless Mucha: The Magic of Line is published to accompany the exhibition on view at the Phillips Collection in Washington\, D.C.\, through May 18\, 2025.  \nAccessibility Note: Masks and clear masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is available upon request. Please contact access@posterhouse.org or (914) 295-2387 to request interpretation services and to address any other accessibility needs.
