Explore the museum’s latest exhibitions and get in on the fun by attending a tour\, workshop\, performance\, or activity throughout the day.  Every First Friday is different\, offering unique opportunities to engage with rotating exhibitions and the permanent collection. Check back soon for a complete list of activities! \n1pm Experimental Drawing Workshop $10\nPoster House is pleased to welcome teaching artist Katherine Toukhy for an experimental drawing workshop based around the billboard Cairo By Night. Participants will explore dynamic movement and mark-making inspired by its figures and Arabic lettering\, and will leave with a self-drawn silhouette of one of the dancers filled with their expressive marks and lines. \n3pm Poster History Timeline Tour\nJoin Chief Curator Angelina Lippert for a tour of the museum’s Poster History Timeline. Learn the fundamental movements that define Western poster history in this fun and engaging tour. Questions strongly encouraged! \n4pm Street Dancing Workshop $10\nMuch like the remixed posters in Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes\, street performances are part of the fabric of everyday life in a big city. In this interactive workshop\, participants will learn the basics of street dance forms from It’s Showtime NYC. Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to move your feet like a pro. All experience levels welcome! \n5pm Masked Vigilantes Docent Tour\nJoin docent Tim Medland for a curatorial tour of Poster House’s first contemporary art exhibition Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes. Learn how the artists like Swoon\, KAWS\, and Jilly Ballistic use posters as a medium from which to create entirely new works of art\, repurposing the language of mass communication. Discover how advertising shapes our built environment and how artists leverage sanctioned and unsanctioned public art to disrupt what is commonplace. \n6pm Bollywood Dance Workshop $10\nPoster House is pleased to welcome back Ajna Dance Company for an interactive Bollywood dance workshop! Get ready to move your body and learn the basics of the famous dance style from New York’s premier Indian dance company. All experience levels welcome!  \n7:30pm Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet Performance\nPoster House is pleased to welcome Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet for a performance in the main gallery. Enjoy the graceful choreography and flowing movements alongside the acclaimed exhibition Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes. You don’t want to miss this showcase of pure excellence in contemporary dance.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to play I Spy in a museum? Now you can! Join Poster Kids as we find unique and sometimes hidden images in our poster exhibitions. After our gallery activity\, we’ll head to the workshop to create our own I Spy-themed collages and drawings.  \nJoin Poster House on select Sunday mornings from 10:30am–12pm for a family-friendly\, interactive poster tour and a related art-making experience. Admission is free; advanced registration is required. \nThis program invites children 5–11 years old and their adults to collaborate (siblings are welcome). This is not a drop-off program.

DESCRIPTION:Every month\, Poster House offers virtual Vibrant Verbal Description Tours specifically for community members who are blind or have low vision. \nIn order to reach a wide\, art-loving audience around the world\, we offer our description tours online through Zoom. These tours are led by our Chief Curator\, allowing you intimate access to the items in our current shows and permanent collection. \nThis month’s tour will focus on New Orleans travel posters. \nPlease email access@posterhouse.org or call ‪(914) 295-2387 to sign up for this event. DESCRIPTION:Poster House Members are invited to a curatorial tour of the celebrated exhibition Pattern & Flow: A Golden Age of American Decorated Paper\, 1960s to 2000s. This landmark show is the first of its kind dedicated to exploring the revolutionary and decadently beautiful era of 20th-century artists’ papers\, brilliantly curated by Mindy Dubansky of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Watson Library. This tour will take place at the Grolier Club in New York City. Space is limited.
