Join Paul Shaw, designer and typography historian, as he leads a letter-centric tour of Wonder City of the World: New York City Travel Posters at Poster House. Paul will dissect and discuss the lettering and type used in many of the posters in the exhibition. He will also explain the subtle differences between classical roman and rugged roman letters, between grotesque/gothic letters and geometric sans-serif letters, and how to distinguish lettering from type. Whether you are a type nerd or a lettering newbie, you will learn something new during this detailed exhibition tour. Paul has previously led both virtual and in-person lettering tours of four Poster House exhibitions to wide acclaim.
