Introducing the Living Archive Wall
.Last week, Poster House unveiled a new rotating exhibition space dedicated to showcasing the wide selection of posters we have accumulated within The Living Archive. The Living Archive is dedicated to preserving the best posters being made around the world today, and includes thousands of examples from Tokyo to Nairobi, London to Sao Paulo.
It was obviously quite difficult to choose an inaugural poster series that could represent such a diverse part of our collection; however, I couldn’t deny the exceptional design that Götz Gramlich and gggrafik put forth in their series for the Theater Oberhausen in Germany.
While only two of the posters in the series are currently on view in our new Living Archive display area, I wanted to share other highlights from the project, many of which incorporate a blend of art-historical and pop culture references to create compelling, modern imagery.
