Join David Jon Walker for a typography tour of Act Black: Posters from Black American Stage & Screen. Walker will introduce guests to the lettering styles and typographic history within many of the posters promoting some of the most notable Black performers and productions of the 20th century.

David Jon Walker is a New Haven–based designer and educator whose practice spans graphic design, typography, and visual storytelling. He teaches in the Graphic Design program at the Yale School of Art, where he also completed his second MFA in 2023. David’s work has been recognized by AIGA and the Type Directors Club, and he has collaborated with a wide range of cultural institutions, including Poster House, the Birmingham Museum of Art, the National Museum of African American Music, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Art Institute of Chicago, Princeton University Library, and Yale University.
