ASL Night: ASL SLAM—Poster House Edition

Wednesday, Dec 3, 2025
7:30–8:30pm

Poster House presents a special edition of ASL SLAM. In conjunction with the exhibition The Future Was Then: The Changing Face of Fascist Italy, ASL SLAM will highlight the strength of artistic community, expression, and communication as forces of resistance to oppression.

This evening will feature experimental forms of sign-language literature and performance that explore how we perceive ourselves and one another.

For more than a decade, ASL SLAM has invited members of the signing community to step on stage and break free from the daily constraints of language. Through vivid imagery and literary prompts, performers and audience members alike transform personal experience into bold, unrestrained forms of expression.

Please note: while this event will be performed in American Sign Language, everyone is welcome.

This event is part of an evening celebrating members and artists of the signing community. Please find additional programming on Poster House’s events page.

Please email access@posterhouse.org or call (914) 295-2387 to sign up for this event as space is limited.

Accessibility Note: This event will be performed in American Sign Language (ASL). Masks and clear masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available. Please contact access@posterhouse.org or (914) 295-2387 to address any other accessibility needs.
