Zines have long served as a way for marginalized groups to spread information. During the HIV/AIDS crisis, independent publications and zines served as a lifeline for those affected by the epidemic, allowing them to protect and build community.

In honor of Love & Fury: New York’s Fight Against AIDS, join Poster House and Secret Riso Club for a community zine-making workshop. In this hands-on, step-by-step workshop, attendees will learn the basics of risograph printing and collaborate on an original zine reflective of the participants’ collective vision. Each participant will take home a copy of the final product.

No previous experience necessary. All materials will be provided. Event ticket includes a complimentary beverage from Café des Affiches.

Secret Riso Club is an artist-run space and creative studio that serves as a resource for independent publishing, art book production, design and art project development, programming, exhibitions, distribution and more. The use of print and design as a tool for social change, creativity, and community empowerment drive their work and programming. SRC is run in collaboration between Gonzalo Guerrero & Tara Ridgedell.
