Disability Pride Night: Musical Performance & Q+A with Just Call Me By My Name

Wednesday, Jul 29, 2026
7:30–9pm

Join Daniel and Ken Trush, co-founders of Daniel’s Music Foundation, and James Ian, singer-songwriter and recording artist on Just Call Me By My Name®, for a special evening of music, conversation, and community in Poster House’s Main Gallery. The program will begin with an introduction to Daniel’s Music Foundation and its mission to make music accessible to all, followed by live performances from Daniel Trush and James Ian. The evening will conclude with an engaging audience Q&A exploring the power of music, the importance of inclusion, and how creating spaces where everyone belongs can transform lives.

Daniel Trush is a musician and co-founder of Daniel’s Music Foundation, an extraordinary New York City-based organization that is committed to bringing music-based education programs to the disabled community both in person and online. At just 12 years old, Daniel survived a life-altering rupture of an undetected brain aneurysm, an experience that could have silenced his dreams. Instead, music became a beacon of hope and a critical part of his recovery, transforming his life and igniting his passion to connect with others through song. Daniel’s songs reflect his commitment to use music as a force for good in the world.

James Ian is a multifaceted talent whose artistry transcends music. As a singer, songwriter, and producer, James captivates audiences with deeply personal lyrics, soulful melodies, and raw emotion. His music reflects his unique experiences as an artist living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), giving voice to underrepresented stories and fostering a deeper sense of connection and understanding. James is also a sought-after public speaker who uses his platform to advocate for disability inclusion and to encourage others to embrace their individuality. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and community events, he shares his journey, encouraging audiences to view differences as strengths and to champion accessibility and representation across all industries.

Just Call Me By My Name® is a non-traditional record label founded by Daniel’s Music Foundation. JCMBMN® amplifies the voices of artists with disabilities and creates opportunities for their stories and artistry to reach wider audiences. Profits support Daniel’s Music Foundation’s free music programs for people with disabilities, helping expand access to creative expression and community through music.
