Join Poster House this August as the Genius on Display series welcomes designer Jazz Peña for a conversation with CMYK Council member Sharif Tassy. Through branding, typography, animation, and digital and spatial design, Peña has partnered with nonprofits and community organizations to create thoughtful, impactful visual communication. Hear about the projects that have shaped her career, the inspirations behind her multidisciplinary practice, and her approach to designing with purpose.
This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board that works to ensure the museum is accessible to communities of color.
Jazz Peña’s diverse artistry includes projects in typography, branding, animation, and web and spatial design. Her focus on designing for social movements is motivated by a desire to shift away from the status quo. Peña has designed for organizations including Youth Speaks, Brave New Voices, Area of Refuge and National Black Food and Justice Alliance.
Accessibility Note: Masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available.
