Members-Only Tour: A Century of Dining Out

Poster House advisor Eve Kahn, an independent scholar, will give a tour of the Grolier Club’s exhibition, A Century of Dining Out: The American Story in Menus, 1841-1941, from the collection of Grolier member Henry Voigt. The show excerpts 225 menus from Voigt’s comprehensive collection to shed light on the history of cuisines, immigration, ethnic groups, travel, agriculture, and mealtime settings, whether a Gilded Age banquet or a Great Depression food-relief eatery.
