Members-Only Tour: Indigenous American Art at the Met
12–1pm
In honor of Poster House’s upcoming exhibition Designed to Be Red: Native American & Indigenous Poster Works, members are invited to a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s American Wing with a focus on the long-term installation Art of Native America: The Charles and Valerie Diker Collection.
This installation incorporates the work of more than 50 Indigenous groups, representing various aesthetic forms including painting, sculpture, embroidery, and ceramics. The collection’s placement within the Met’s American Wing reflects a “commitment to foreground Native cultural expressions and perspectives in meaningful and inclusive contexts.”
Please enter the Met via the Main Entrance at 82nd Street and 5th Avenue and gather at the Colossal Seated Statue of a Pharaoh. Please plan on allocating some time for a security check prior to entering the building.
