Top to Tip Walking Tour
10am–6pm
Get to know Manhattan in a way even few life-long New Yorkers do: by walking the length of the island from the Bronx to the Battery. Join author, historian, and architectural designer Tom Rinaldi on a 13-mile urban hike that will trace Manhattan’s spine from the island’s northern end down to Battery Park.
With brief pauses to admire points of cultural, historical, and architectural interest along the way, this all-day tour will follow Broadway from the land of low-rise buildings and elevated trains in upper Manhattan, down past the old moviehouses and pre-war apartment buildings of Harlem and the Upper West Side, on to the office towers and marquees of the theater district to the canyon-like streets of lower Manhattan, before finally leaving off at the breeze-swept southernmost tip of the island. Audio devices will be provided and the ticket price includes a meal at the iconic New York City institution Grey’s Papaya!
