Join Kemmii and The Source for an evening of live music in celebration of our exhibitions Act Black: Posters from Black American Stage & Screen and Love & Fury: New York’s Fight Against AIDS. Blending R&B, soul, hip-hop, and electronic influences, Kemmii’s work explores identity, desire, joy, and community while offering a contemporary perspective on Black queer life in New York City.
This intimate, audience-focused performance invites listeners to experience Kemmii’s music up close. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This program is part of West Side Fest, a three-day celebration of arts and culture across Manhattan’s historic West Side, organized by the West Side Cultural Network.
About the Artist
Kemmii is a Caribbean-American performer, songwriter, and producer whose work blends music, visual storytelling, and performance. In 2024, he released his self-produced album no hesitation and its deluxe edition. His visual EP BQFRMBK, accompanied by a short film directed by Shamar Amir, explores Black queer life in New York City. Most recently, Kemmii released the self-produced singles MICHELIN, Let It Rain, and dream while continuing to perform throughout New York City.
