Join Poster House for an electrifying evening of drag in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month and Pride inspired by the museum’s current exhibition Love & Fury: New York’s Fight Against AIDS (in partnership with Welcome to Chinatown). This high-energy event will feature a series of fierce and dynamic performances by Felicia Oh and Emi Grate that emphasize bold self-expression and a commitment to community.
Parental Advisory: Recommended for ages 16+
Felicia Oh (she/her) is NYC’s full-frontal Formosan fantasy—a living love letter to Asian women. As a first-generation Taiwanese American immigrant, Felicia is passionate about creating safe spaces and events that center queer AAPI stories and voices, such as her show Red Lantern District in Bushwick. She is not your model minority—she’s just a model.
Emi Grate (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based drag artist known for her bold, recognizable style and dedication to community and experimentation. Born and raised in Mandalay, Burma, she was granted LGBT asylum in the United States where she is now a permanent resident. Her work champions diverse representation and includes performances as both a drag queen and a drag king, Desmond DooDoo. She has been featured at Bushwig, Nightgowns, and the Brooklyn Museum, and has held titles including Miss BK 2018, Miss Brooklyn Pride 2020, and Mx Somebody 2021.
