Members-Only Tour: Air India’s Maharaja: Advertising Gone Rogue

Thursday, Nov 17, 2022
6–8pm

Poster House is delighted to invite you and a guest to an exclusive, Members-only tour of Air India’s Maharaja: Advertising Gone Rogue led by curators Carly Johnson and Sophia Williamson. Reservations are required.

This exhibition highlights the history of Air-India’s most iconic travel posters produced from 1946 to 1972. The star of these posters was the airline’s beloved mascot, the Maharaja. Conceived in 1946, the Maharaja would go on to become the face of the company and help propel it to the forefront of advertising genius in the mid-20th century.
