Members-Only Tour: Mike King & the Art of the Gig Poster

Poster House members are invited to a private tour of the exhibition Copy/Paste/Print/Repeat: Mike King & the Art of the Gig Poster. Join artist Mike King as he discusses some of the rarest posters he produced during a 30-year period of his career. What began as a means of promoting the shows of his own bands in the late 1970s gradually became a full-time specialism in the art of the eye-catching concert poster. Today, there are few major venues or bands that have not worked with King—and his imagery has saturated American music culture, appearing on album covers, T-shirts, and, most importantly, posters. Light refreshments will be provided.
