Members-Only Tour: Puerto Rico in Print
6–7pm
Poster House members are invited to a private tour of the exhibition Puerto Rico in Print: The Posters of Lorenzo Homar. Join curator Alejandro Anreus as he discusses works by Lorenzo Homar, a pioneering printmaker, poster designer, calligrapher, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and theater designer, known today as the father of the Puerto Rican poster. This exhibition focuses on the posters Homar produced over a 30-year period, compositions reflecting the complex history of Puerto Rico as well as the rising tension between tradition and modernity under the Luis Muñoz Marín government. Light refreshments will be provided.
